I’ve long been wanting some old fashioned curlers but hadn’t got round to buying any, partly because the sets I usually see are so small (in terms of number of curlers) that they hardly seemed enough to do my hair. This set has 24 curlers in 4 different sizes so was more than ample, though I do with there were more smaller curlers as I didn’t use the largest size at all. As well as the curlers, there are 30 hair clips, 2 combs, and a tool for doing French braids. I don’t expect to use the braiding tool as I’m not keen on the look of French braids and it seems fiddly to use on one’s self, and the combs are, as one would expect, not the best quality. So really, it’s all about the curlers and clips. I like the curlers a lot. They are the velcro type so quite easy to put in, even for someone like me who is useless at doing my hair and clumsy to boot! I struggled a little to get the clips placed properly to hold the curlers, but they do seem sturdy and I appreciated that there is a fair number of them so I shouldn’t be going short. Once in, the curlers are relatively comfortable and even look kind of cute, I feel like I am living my best “Beauty School Dropout” fantasy with my leopard print turban protecting them and I’m afraid I might even be tempted to pop to the shops in these (someone should probably stop me). This set is priced at £9.99 at time of review which seems pretty good considering the amount of curlers and clips you get.
