I've used all sorts of rollers before. I've used heat rollers, but my fine, straight hair doesn't take well to heat and curls will be completely gone in an hour. Same with a curling iron. I've used foam rollers with plastic clips. But the plastic frequently bends/breaks and can be quite uncomfortable to sleep on. I've used long bendy ones like used in perms, but are not the easiest to secure consistently and again are uncomfortable to sleep on. I have not tried curlformers only because they are cost prohibitive.These are affordable, comfortable, and the thin wire makes them extremely easy to secure. That said, wet set creates a tighter curl that if you dont quite know how to style can easily turn frizzy and tangled. They can be styled in many different ways from structured spiral curls, vintage waves, beach curls, etc. If you have a specific type of style in mind, look up a tutorial before placing fault on the product. 40 covered my entire head without doubling up.If you dont necessarily have time to do a true wet set, putting mouse on the hair, rolling up, and leaving up for an hour or two will still get results that will last into the next day.I only wish the foam was a bit more dense.
